Passing Clouds 云起

The auspicious clouds is in the shape that is very similar to the Ruyi motif ((lit: As your heart’s desire). Auspicious clouds has over 2,500 years of history in Chinese tradition.

行到水穷处，坐看云起时。(lit: When you’ve reached the end of the waters, sit and watch the clouds rise). This is a  line in a poem by famous Tang dynasty poet Wang Wei, which encapsulates his zen attitude towards life. This line is often referenced in modern literature and pop culture, and the most famous one would be in the show 步步惊心 Bu Bu Jing Xin (Scarlet Heart).

The earrings can rise and fall with your adjustment of their lengths, very much like the idea of rising clouds.

Serpentine is also known as Xiu Yu 岫玉 (lit: “Jade” from the cave region) in Chinese, as the region that produced it in abundance has a lot of cave formations along its coasts.
