[Imperial Collection] Springtime: Peony & Papillon

While the imperial collection is definitely out of reach for us, it’s still possible to own a semblance of it as part of your wardrobe. The original fan is made with carved silk (缂丝)/tapestry/tsuzure (綴れ)weave technique, and the replica fan is also available for purchase (email for detail and price).

This bag takes the motif from a Kesi (缂丝)/tapestry/tsuzure (綴れ) fan in the Qing dynasty’s imperial collection and adapts it into a hand carried bag to adorn your outfit with just this little extra finesse.

Comes with a pair of Revolving Dragon’s Whiskers tassel that is also 100% handmade.

This type of tassels are made using a craft that was popular during the Qing dynasty’s Emperor Qianlong’s period, and was often used on the swords and the imperial seals. The end of the tassel is twisted into a loop to prevent fraying, much unlike the tassels you see in mass market. Due to the rarity and intricacy of the craft, it is not machine replicable.

Customisable into floral shape bag instead of round shape.
