Natural Serpentine
Inner diameter measures 18mm. Around 6.3mm high and 3.5mm thick.
This is a very translucent quality serpentine, which fits the modern day aesthetic of gemstone like translucency.
Serpentine is also known as Xiu Yu 岫玉 (lit: “Jade” from the cave region) in Chinese, as the region that produced it in abundance has a lot of cave formations along its coasts.
Note: Unlike conventional gemstones, jadestones have very different colours under different lighting conditions and surroundings. Photos are taken in daylight to best represent the natural colours when worn in the day. As such, they would look different when indoors. We advise to open your parcel in the day next to the window to best appreciate your first acquaintance with your acquisition.
This is a statement piece by itself. It is better carved by an even more experienced carver than the bangle version. It is incredibly hard to carve something from stone, let alone on such a small scale. Unlike the Jadeite version of the ring, this has even more three dimensional carving with more negative spaces, which makes it an incredible piece of wearable art piece.
