The Orient of Art Deco Earrings

$148.00

Art Deco was as much a symbol of the Roaring 20s as it was a romanticisation of the Orient. It was also a grand celebration of cultural exchange. The foldable fan, which many associate with the Chinese was a result of the Japanese cultural influence to China around 800 years ago.

Adapted from the unique feather inlay traditions of ancient Chinese, we opted to use peacock feathers for its iridescence and its deep, intense colours.

There are three different types of feather colours to choose from:

Emerald: Predominantly various shades of green.

Opal: A wonderful play of colours with greens, blues and turquoise and occasionally some yellows. Pretty much like opal that’s without its reds.

Sapphire: Mainly deep, rich, intense blue.

The feathers are iridescent and would change under different lightings.
