Bespoke Luxury Bag Commissions

Hanfugirl’s Designer Bags are once a lifetime encounters. If you missed the chance to own one because they got snatched up before they met you, then here’s your chance to take the first step to owning your very own commissioned piece.

You may choose from the following bag styles, or if you have any particular design in mind, you can get in touch and we’re sure that our bag designer and tailors can find something suitable for your needs:

You may choose from our wide selection of handcrafted (weaved, painted, handprinted, embroidered) silk kimono, obi, Chinese mulberry silk embroidery textiles for your bag. We are constantly updating the gallery with more intricately designed, weaved and painted silk textile arts from traditional craftsmen in China and Japan. If you have any particular shade of colour, craftsmanship or style in mind just let us know! We know silk embroiderers and weavers who would be happy to take a commissioned piece and make that into a bag:

If you would like to have something even more customised, please get in touch and we can arrange for a bespoke bag design, hand embroidered with silk threads on pure mulberry silk or other customisations and made into a bag.

We understand your desire for transparent pricing, and are more than happy to share with you a rough guide on our commissioning process and the price range of your desired bag.

Step 1: Pick a bag style (S$148 onwards)

Classic hard casing bags with metallic frame (i.e. handbags that are rectangular, round, or floral shape with a metallic frame) with no inner compartments: $148

Classic purse/clutch with inner compartments: $218

Larger size bags: $248

Custom design bags: $288 onwards (Depending on the complexity of requirement, this pricing is just a guide and it might be more or less than this amount)

Step 2: Pick a textile (S$88 onwards)

Machine-weaved textile of non-natural fibres: $88

Handweaved textile of non-natural fibres: $128 (i.e. some of the brocades by the ethnic minorities of China such as the Zhuang Brocade)

Plain silk textiles: $148 (plain colours with simple prints or damask—the subtle relief patterns on fabric)
Trust me, they can look really amazing and classy! It can also match a lot of styles and dresses.

Silk textiles with paintings or weaved patterns (single or double sided): $218-$288
This has a more luxurious look and greater complexity in texture which can be appreciated as a piece of art in itself.

24K gold weaved threads textiles: $588 onwards
Weaved with 24K real gold threads, these textiles are hard to come by and would be the ultimate luxury item, much more so than any other branded bags can ever offer.

Silk textiles with special/rare crafts such as silk embroidery, gold couching, mother-of-pear inlay, tapestry weave, gold or silver tapestry weave, and others that are items of great traditions and craftsmanship (single or double sided): $248 onwards
This is great for gala events or occasions when you would like to display your sophistry as a connoisseur of Asian traditions and crafts. Not everyone can recognise the crafts but those who know, are of a certain level of finesse. The knowledge and ability to own such items was also how the ancient Chinese aristocrats set themselves apart from the rest.

Commissioned work with a specific motif or design you have in mind that you would like to be newly weaved and/or embroidered and/or painted: Please get in touch with us to explore this further.

*If you have your own rare textiles which you would like to repurpose into a bag or something else, feel free to write in to me and we would be happy to waive the material cost off! You would only need to top up $38 for the handling fee of examining, preparing and shipping of your material to our special bag tailor. Please note that we can only accept textiles of fine artistry and craftsmanship.

**If you would like for us to source for another style that is not in our collection, we are happy to do so at just a minor cost of additional $38 for shipping and sourcing on top of the material cost.

Step 3: Confirm your requirements in consultation with us (S$68 and above depending on the complexity)

If your request is a straight forward one such as picking a Classic bag design based on our existing offerings, and a textile that is in our collection, you would only need to top up a small customisation fee of $68.

If you would like to make some alterations and changes, and depending on the complexity of the requests, we will provide a quote accordingly based on the estimated man-hour required for such.

Step 4: Wait patiently for your bespoke bag of a lifetime!

We are not in the business of fast fashion, so please do not expect to receive your bag the next week after your order. Depending on the type of bag and material use, the sourcing, tailoring, and shipping would take anywhere from 30 days onwards.

But good things are always worth waiting for, isn’t it?
